Accreditation
Accreditation is the way forward
Accreditation serves as a seal of approval. It assures stakeholders that the activities are safe, of high-quality and excellent. It shows that providers and practitioners meet certain standards, establishing trust in the experiences they offer. This process is critical for sectoral improvement and growth.
Undergoing an operations review and/or getting your operations accredited is a good way to improve the safety and quality system of your OAE activities. The OAE Council is developing the Singapore Standards for OAE Activities, which will form the basis of a future national certification and accreditation scheme. Anticipate developments on local accreditation scheme from 2025 onwards.
Here are some examples of accreditations that you can undertake as an OAE provider.
Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Operation Accreditation
The Operation Accreditation is a review process administered by ACCT. It recognises challenge courses, aerial adventure/trekking parks, zip lines, and canopy tour sites (referred to as courses) that meet the procedural and standard compliance requirements established by ACCT. To be recognised as an ACCT Accredited Operator, please refer to the ACCT Operations Accreditation Process step-by-step guide.
Outdoor Learning and Adventure Education Association (OLAE) Professional Member Accreditation
On 24 March 2018, OLAE completed its 'Standards for Industry Practice - 1st Edition'. This served as the basis for accrediting Organisational Members as Professional Members. To be an OLAE Professional Member, please refer to OLAE Accreditation Process.
